Reading helps some, but what really helped me to memorize information was by writing out my notes. I would outline each chapter, add my notes from the teacher and answer homework questions. Then at the end of the semester, I would sell my notes because they were painfully neat and organized.

Listening and reading , both have their independent ways and it depends on an individual person's capacity and nature. According to me reading is the best way to memorize well.

Fortunately for me I have a pretty darn good memory no matter how I hear it, my husband can vouch for that, lol. But I do have a preference and it is to read it or see it. I have a photographic memory to a degree so I like to be able to look back and remember that way.

It depends on the information. If it's an area I'm really unfamiliar with, hearing it read aloud helps. Otherwise, I do just fine reading.

I do better by reading to myself. I guess it makes me think more. I sometimes have to read it 2-3 times to make sure I know it.
