I have friends who come from Djibouti (very similar to Somalia) and they say that since it is a muslim country, a lot of stuff in the media is censored. But here are a few websites for more details. Hope this helps!

It changes by the day but as of today they are controlled by individual warlords. Al Qaida is sponsoring some radical Muslims to take over and is making a great deal of headway taking over the country. Ethiopia is watching from the sidelines. They prefer not to have to deal with Al Qaida on their border.
