Esera Tuaolo stopped playing football because he blew a hamstring, and having to introduce his partner as his manager was taking it's toll on the relationship. He decided to give up football instead of sacrificing his relationship.

That being said. I'm sure there are gay football players. Just that foot ball is such a 'manly man's' sport that if someone were to say they were gay, they'd probably get their butt kicked.

Because it's a "manly sport" lol, and manly men aren't gay, and if the manly men are watching gay football players it might make them seem less manly. America is very hush hush on anything involving sex. That's why we have the highest teen pregnancy rate in the word. Also people like to stereotype things and they don't want to think as a buff football player as gay.

Such a manly sport *** slapping that goes on both on the field and off in locker room. There are most likely gay players but fear of coming out. There have been few have come out after they quit playing.

The public seems to think that football players embody what it is to be masculine. Therefore, they are beyond reproach.
