We are preparing a Work Team Building Party. The theme is the 70s and the hippies. There will be people from 20 to 65 years old.

What do I need to make it look and feel like the 70s? What accessories, what kind of music, what kind of activities, games, etc - anything that would make this party more Hippie-like.

Oh, baby! This is me (born in 1960, grew up in 60's and 70's, cousins - lucky dogs - went to Woodstock and I'm currently 46)

Music... Tommy Roe (Jam Up and Jelly Tight - plus many other hits like these...) Billy, Don't Be A Hero.... It's My Party and I'll Cry If I Want To... and at some point Elton John popped in there with Philadephia Freedom. Make sure you have music from the rock opera "Tommy" (Pinball Wizard) and the Beatles... oh my.... can I come? :)

Accessories? Lava lamps, black lights and posters, mood rings, hanging beads in doorways, incense burners, beanbag chairs, anything neon orange and lime green, fake fur, a mirror ball...

As for games and activities? Without pulling out the hash brownies - lol.... I'd say Twister and HoolaHoops... Skip-It (that toy you put on your ankle and jump over it with the other foot... recently re-released at ToysRUs).... Trivia Pursuit 70's Edition... Saturday Night Live 70's Edition.... anything Brady Bunch, Hogan's Heroes, Star Trek, Get Smart, Laugh-In related...

Peace signs... fondue.... bell bottoms... You Bet Your Sweet Bippie!.... A Whiter Shade of Pale (song).... try to round up an 8-track cassette player from a pawn shop or E-Bay... Joanie Mitchell.... Blowin' In The Wind.... Make Love, Not War.... the list is long on what said "70's" to me :)

Good luck with your party... and make sure you wear long hair and dress like a total Flower Child because we all had "flower power"! :)

Almost forgot! The Village People!!! Y-M-C-A!!!! (Okay, so they were late 70's but anyone in that age range would get a kick out of it!!) :)

Well...I think technically the hippies were primarily in the 60s but I guess there were some throwbacks in the 70s. I suggest lots of beads and macrame...maybe some colored light bulbs and big flowers and stuff like that. Bright colors, etc. Maybe a black light or two... Although, I was actually born in 1975, lol, so you might want to ask someone who remembers better.
