I'm over in the R&S section most of the time. It's hard to stay patient and kind though so sometimes I need to take a breather from defending anyone with differing beliefs than the fanatics.
"They ask a lot of questions that really need good answers but there are so many of the Christians on that site that it's hard to get a word in edge ways"
I agree with that. The only thing I can do to try and compete with their answers is be as patient and nice to everyone as I can. I try to show the goodness of Pagans by being as tolerent and accepting of others as possible. There may not be tons of Pagans flooding the answers over there but luckily, the ones that hang out in the R&S section are knowledgable and kind. They don't lower themselves down to the level of the haters and they make the rest of us look good by association.

Oh, I'm pagan, and I have looked through the R&S questions quite a few times, have even answered a couple, but the main reason i don't say much there..well.. the best way I can put it is this: Do you know why you should nevert try to teach a pig to sing? Becasue it wastes your time and annoys the pig. The main reason Christians ask questins or make comments against non-christians is so that they can have more ammunition for their effrots in bashing. They don't want answers, all they want is another reason to try to show that they are right. Besides, they already know what they want the answer to be, and anyone that doesn't give it is, as far as they're concerned, wrong. All they wan to do is bait someone into an argument that is pointless because any opinion or information that doesn't agree with their limited and biased experience will be disregarded anyway. There is no point in giving information to people that don't really wnat it and won't listen anyway. You'd have an easier time convincing a brick wall that it is a piece of chocolate cake than you would getting a christina to listen to anyhting that a non-christian has to say. That doesn't mean that I won't respond to things that happen to catch my attention in that area, just that it isn't a priority. I would much rather discuss with other pagans what can be done to assert the legal rights that we are supposed to have, and to remind other pagans that we should not be bound by the ideas of christians in anyting that we do.

I am what you would call semi because I was believe a lot in the church just in one part. The church doesn't allow you to grow spiritually and that is what I despise It isn't all dead I ask questions all the time thankfully my whole family know a lot more than me. Pagans are more discrete about everything and should be since a lot of the stuff are occult and revolutionary. That always receive glares from ever body especially from Christians why I don't fully understand. Since the universal rule in religions is "Treat others the way you want to be treated" anyways got carried away. Also yahoo answers is mainstream you have to participate in actually meetings in the area you live. Christians tend to be close minded and not their fault since almost ever body was taught to be that way, they think theirs is the one true religion (I'm not against) I just believe you can go deeper than what the church says.

hi again....i know what u mean but maybe that's y we r solitaries? i can relate to u cuz I've had dealings with both sides n used to luv pissin off my religion teachers by picking all the faults thru out the bible n making them try to publicly explain em (got a few detentions that way, lol). Personally, I've reached the conclusion that most christians r too close minded to listen properly to a logical debate, therefore I'm wasting my time. I've gotta admit tho that sometimes i can't resist n i gotta point out how redundant their whole thing is but i usually get a volley of 'I'll pray for ur soul or ur goin to hell...' in return. These ppl won't listen to any opposing view n some feel they must wipe it out. It's the basis for alot of suffering in this world.... not just christianity but any religion that blindly denies that it's choke hold on the world is slipping n therefore believe's it must tighten that hold. It will only result in the death of those bloody religions. Problem is they'll take everyone with em.

I try to participate in both sections. R&S is loaded with zealots and trolls. Questions that are deserving of answers get lost.
I have posted the same question in both areas and received several responses here and only a few in the other area. I saw the same thing happen to a young Wiccan today. Sad really.
I have learned to sift through and find questions I may be able to help with.

I tend to lump myself in with the pagans in the R&S section, simply because, well...there are even fewer ritual magicians, trust me. And you guys are about the closest thing I've got most of the time, except for maybe the occasional thoughtful agnostic or one or two nice Satanists. (ETA: The real ones, who don't worship Satan or any of that silly stuff. Not the perceived kind at all.)
And WHOO it is crazy over there. One way or the other, any voice that isn't rabidly Christian or rabidly athieistic/Christian-baiting gets drowned out in the warfare. I used to hang out over there a lot; now I just pop in for the few decent questions (maybe one out of ten or so).

My sentiments exactly!
My theoretical answers:
Because - Christians can afford to ‘play the numbers game’, as the American phrase goes.
‘The missionary man, he’s got God on his side.
He’s got the Saints and Apostles backing up from behind.
…he said “stop what you’re doing, get down upon your knees”,
“I have a message for you that you better believe!”’
- Missionary Man - the Eurythmics
Which is that X-man who only gets stronger with every punch that you throw at her/ him, only to use your very energy against you? Is it Rogue? Yeah, it’s kind of like that.
And like some of you had mentioned, if we are not careful, we can be baited. Singing pigs and chocolate? LOL
Now I also wonder: why do non-Christian Singaporeans seem to be invisible on Yahoo Answers. It’s still a mystery to me. Is this due to a language barrier? Is this due to a lack of interest in spirituality?
Yes, Hardcore Polytheist wrote the very words I wished I could have thought of! And ya, as someone else mentioned, the most prolific occultists did spend their childhoods in strong Christian environments. Look at Levi and Crowley!

Little do they know, Christianity gets most of its customs and rituals from Pagan roots. For example, Easter, which is supposed to celebrate the Resurrection of the Messiah, was actually based on the Pagan Ritual of Ishtar, the Sumerian goddess of fertility (hence the colored eggs). Christmas is also a Pagan holiday related to Ishtar. About a year after Ishtar's husband, Nimrod (the builder of the Tower of Babel) died, Ishtar mysteriously gave birth to a son named Tammuz. The date? December 25th. His birthday was celebrated by hanging colored metal balls (symbolizing testes) on a pine tree (a phallic symbol). Even the word Christian is from the indo-European word meaning "drugged, or whitewashed". True believers in the Messiah named Yahushua are called Yahuwdyn. There are very few of us. Basically, a Yahuwdyn is a Jew who believes that Jesus, or Yahushua was the one true Messiah. Even his name, which is Hebrew for Joshua, means "God Saves". Educated men know that He not born on December 25th, but sometime in the fall. My guess is September 11th. Why else would the Muslims pick this day to attack the world's largest mostly-Christian country? See www.yadayahweh.com and prophetofdoom.net for more details.

I am pagan. I tend to avoid that section simply because it is a waste of time. Christians will believe what they believe and nothing I can say will sway them or suddenly open their minds. They want to bash me because they don't understand. Many are very ignorant--like the woman who said that paganism wasn't around until the 1920s. Um..yeah. Most Christians are very ignorant about the history of their own faith. I just don't feel I need to waste my time because nothing I say over there will make a bit of difference.
