at birth she was in the 50th percentile and now is in the 95th percentile this would NOT be considered normal growth, even for a breastfed baby (which tend to gain faster) I will caution you to speak to your pediatrician because infants that exceed the 95th percentile are at risk for obesity related disease (heart problems diabetes cholesterol etc.) during infancy and easily childhood.

My boys were both large at birth (8 lb. 4 oz. and 8 lb. 11 oz., respectively) and now they're a little older, and thinning out. My older son is 2 1/2 and has slowed down growing considerably. He's still right on track and in the 90th percentile and above, but he's really thinning down--I think he's getting taller than he is wider. Sometimes I look at him when I'm bathing him, and he reminds me of a wet cat--looks sort of scrawny, LOL. He's perfectly healthy, but compared to what a chunky baby he was, he looks skinny to me. :) My younger son is 14 months old, and now that he's walking, he's thinning out too. Babies grow incredibly fast during their first year, but once they reach about one (usually) and become mobile, they lose a great deal of their baby weight, and they stop growing so rapidly.

Babies should double thier birth weight by 4-6 months and triple by the first year. She is fine as long as you are not overfeeding her. My first daughter weighed 6lbs 8 oz and about 24 lbs at 6 months-- she was a chunk!! My second weighed 7lbs 12oz ans is now 10 months old and barely weighs 20 lbs soaking wet in a soggy Diaper!!LOL She will be fine.

Yes I had one that weigh in at 9 10 a birth and now is skinny as a rail and another that was 9 8 and he is built but not fat at all baby fat is really not a big thing unless it.Becomes constant over indulgences thing for along time just because the baby was big a birth doesn't mean they will be a fat person.

My daughter was over 9 lbs at birth. She was in the 90th percentile for size for a while, but now at 4, she's the same size as all the other kids (there are even some smaller than her in her class).
Right now, she's got a jump on her contemporaries, but they will catch up to her.

That's 1/2 pound over the average range of 10-15 pounds for 3 months. NOTHING to stress or worry about whatsoever, unless something else doesn't seem right (appetite, for example).
I bet she's beautiful!!

I thought that too about my 3 1/2 month old daughter. She was 13 lbs. about 3 weeks ago so don't worry. They will slow down once they crawl everywhere.

I have a 31/2 month old and she is almost 15 pounds. I thought she was big. She was 9.6 when she was born. They will smooth out!

My 3 month old is almost 16 lbs. and my ped. says that it is normal. Are you and the father big people? I mean like height and stuff? If you are then your child is going to be normally bigger than children from short or really tiny people!
