In IE, tools-->internet options by default you'll be in the general tab. Near the bottom it will say clear history... click it. To keep it from doing an autocomplete at all go to the content tab and look for autocomplete.

For internet explorer:
Go to the top of your screen to the internet explorer search bar and click on tools> internet options>delete history.

Also, click on 'delete cookies' and 'delete files' to clean out temporary files to keep your pc running better. Also, where it says 'days to keep pages in history' choose 0.

Yahoo search bar:
Left click on the pencil to the left of the Y! search bar and choose 'clear search history.'
Google search bar:
Left click on the word "GOOGLE' to the left of the google search bar, then choose 'clear search history.'

This will do it when you are searching for things stored on your computer.

click Start button
click Search
click Change Preferences
click Turn AutoComplete off


The other responses will do it for the searches on the internet.

okay. if you have yahoo you click the down arrow once on your search bar. it should say options. then click clear search history. now goggle is a little different. you go to the G inside your search bar, hit view history then clear. hope i got that right.

just go to the rectangle box beside tge pencil click on the rectangle then a msg will come up clck clear search history

Just highlight the first one and depress the "delete" key until they are all gone. You may have to go through the alphabet to make sure you see them all.

You can erase the history. but it wil still be on the hard drive like a ghost.

If you R using MS IE, select "Tools", "Internet Option" and "General" tab. Click the i) "Delete Cookies", ii) "Delete Files" and iii) "Clear History". Then select the "Content" tab and click i) "Clear SSL state", ii) "Auto Complete". Uncheck i) "Web address", ii) "Forms" and iii) "User names and passowrds on forms". Then click i) "Clear Forms" and ii) "Clear Passwords"

If you are using Firefox, select "Tools", "Clear Private Data", check everything and click "ok". Then select "Tools", "Option" and "Privacy" tab. Select the "Saved Forms" tab and uncheck "Saved information ..." then select ""Saved Passowrds" tab and uncheck "Remeber Passowrds"
