Old wives tale about baby's heartbeat. 165 would that be a boy or a girl?

yeah, that would be a boy or a girl. i never heard that, but i have a friend who can tell just by looking at you. she is either very perceptive or lucky, because she has been right most of the time.

Yeah they said when it's over 140, it's a girl. When it's under 140, a boy. However, my baby's heartbeat was 170 (first time the doctors checked it) and I'm having a boy. I personally think the boys are always a little more active than girls.

Thats funny, I haven't heard that one yet. That is for sure an old wives tale. I don't work in obstetrics now, but I did intern on a labor and delivery unit during nursing school. I saw quite a few sonograms, trust me, for fetus's regardless of whether they are male or female, the normal heart rate is 120-170 beats per minute. Fetal heart rate will not distinguish the sex!!

Anythin below 140 is suppose to be a boy and anything higher a girl but I'm having a girl and hers is always around 140.

I've had 1 boy and 2 girls. All three ran about the same 140-145.

I think it's an old wive's tale but... when I was pregnant with my son his heart rate was always around 150-160.

It would be a girl, because they are the ones with the faster heartbeats. I know it's just a myth, but it was true for my daughter. her heartbeat was always over 150.

if you are soley relying on that it would be girl but I have had 2 boys and the heart rates have ranged from 125-160. But it is possible its a girl!

I've heard boys have the higher heart rate and vice versa. My son was alwats at around 150.

mine were always around 160-175 and i have 2 boys and 2 girls- i wouldn't put much faith in wives tales
