I plan on working at this busy semi-metropolitan area where alot of people go on a daily basis. The thing is, I really need a job, and I need a job where the place is diverse, and this place where I want to work at is perfect, but is somewhat intimidating. Well, okay, it's very intimidating, but I can't see myself working anywhere else. I really would love to work in this particular area, but whenever I go there, I sometimes get overwhealmed by the number of people there. I know I can do it though, I know I can..

So, anyway, I'm just asking for words of encouragement. Does anyone have any?

New things are often overwhelming for us (including new schools, jobs, locations, etc.), so just remember that in time you will get comfortable to this new work atmosphere and will come to enjoy and love it! Don't forget that all those people there were at one point in time in the same place you're in now... the new guy. If you're lost the first day in any way, just take comfort in knowing that many of those intimidating people around you have been lost too. Don't be afraid to ask for help and just remember that everything else will work out in the end. Congrats on the job and go be happy!!

You just have to remember that even though you feel like you're being hammered with all the noise and people are all around moving at a fast pace, that most of them are wrapped up in their own personal thoughts.

You just have to tell yourself how much you love the job and why you took it in the first place and navigate through the crowds as if you own the place.

I hate crowds myself and I know it can be overwhelming. But if you love the job, stick with it and you'll be fine.

Good luck, enjoy the diversity. Keep an open mind and be willing to try new things.

I know you can get through it. You can make it. Make sure you take time out of each day for you own private peace. Time to relax somewhere all by yourself.

I think once you get used to it you will be ok.

Best wishes to you.

Take some time and just people-watch for awhile... Perhaps, there's a particular rhythm you're not able to observe yet...? Betchya can do it, too...!

While it may be frightening at first, after a while, you may meet a friend or two, and they will distract you from your fears.
