Sounds like contact dermatitis--an allergic reaction to something your skin came in contact with. Could be anything--detergent you used to clean the towel, product used to clean the tub, soap, shampoo, who knows. Sometimes allergies develop very suddenly--I have recently become highly sensitive to all different types of antibacterial soap!
A couple nights of Benedryl will help, but you need to eliminate the cause. Try different detergents, different soaps, and so on until you figure it out. Use only gentle things, like Johnson's shampoo, Cetaphil or Ivory soap, and All Free and Clear detergent.
Good luck!

Chicken Pox, allergic reaction, poison ivy. Soak in an Aveeno Oatmeal bath. It will make the itching go away for a little bit.

Seek medical help. Maybe someone is playing an itching powder trick on you. Or maybe you suddenly turned allergic to your soap or something else like fabric softener. (allergies are usually sudden). It may not hurt to put some Benedryl cream (diphenhydramine hydorchloride) on one area to see if it works. I would think that putting it all over could cause an overdose. So if it works you can try an oral antihistamine like Benedryl (diphenhydramine hydorchloride), but be careful, this is the same medication that they use in sleep medications.

Was it just after the bath, did you change soap? Did you change detergents lately, do you have pets? is it strictly skin irritation, or does your throat feel irritated?
There are so many different things possible....
Take some benadryl, plan on a good nites rest,( it makes people very drowsy) and see if the rash subsides by tomorrow, if not think about goin in to see dr.

Sounds like allergic dermatitis. Find the cause. Maybe you washed your clothes in new soap or something. It is not unusual to develop an allergy later in life even if you weren't allergic to something before.

I would also see a Dr. It could be scabies. The warmth of the bath could make them surface. Or the tub could have been cleaned with a cleaner and not totally rinsed. There are hundreds of things it could be. The Dr. may just have you take Benadryl, also. Good Luck!

It sounds like an allergy to your soap or something you're using for your bath.
