Do you know when you meet someone that there is something different, something special in them. When you kiss them good night and feel like your whole life just changed with a kiss, is it real? Have you ever experienced this. I am 40 something and this is different.

Yes, I think it is, but it's not necessarily the lasting kind. Sorry.

When I met my first husband, there was no spark - but we became best friends and our marriage lasted several years. A few years later I had a "love at first sight" experience, and ended up living with the guy for a while. But it did wear off.

Like someone else said, it's pheromones, which only means that you are physically in tune. It doesn't mean that you have anything in common, or that you are soulmates. You might be, or you might find you violently disagree with each others' values and beliefs, OR that you can't stand living with each other. The trouble is, while you're feeling starry-eyed, you're not likely to see those things clearly.

Be aware that things may not turn out as you hope, keep an open mind.

No. It's either wishful thinking or "lust at first sight". If all it takes to change your whole life is a mere kiss, you must really be a basket case. Have a little self-respect, for pete's sake, and give it time. At age 40, you should be very, very well aware that love is something you grow into together. If it's not mutual, it is not love at all but the first of my suggestions above.

I firmly believe it is.. it has happened to me. I think it has something to do with pheromones. It is the best feeling in the world and it never went away.

I would go so far as to guarantee that it happens because it happened to me. Tell her how you feel!
