my mother is 100% african, she is white of course but she was born there and lives there, i guess that makes me half african, my father was from sweden till he moved to the states. I have no problem with it, no one makes fun of me as an africanamericanswede. I was called a viking once, which i dont take as a put down. You can just call your cousin a country bumpkin, if you were born here in the states, most africanamericans werent born in africa, never been there, and wouldnt much like it if they went.

Your cousin is very nasty and you should confront him/her about that. Tell your cousin that you are a person and it doesn't matter what country you come from, or your racial background you're still human. I'm sure other families experience the same problem. There's nothing new under the sun, so I'm sure you're not alone in this. Take heart, though, and be glad you're not ignorant like your cousin.

no, it happens. it's called transferred oppression. it's happens frequently among blacks for some reason. i guess that some african americans feel like they are better than other african americans because they are "truely black" or "lighter". it comes from years of mistreament by another race. they then feel that in order to feel better about themselves, you must treat others how you've been treated. usually you lash out at other people of your race. but the best thing to do would be to confront your cousin and tell her that this must stop.

Tell your cousin to go back to Africa. Tell him your an American and that puts you one step up on him. Most of us in this country are a little of this and a little of that. I think when you mix cultures that it adds to brain power. I'm part native American and a lot of full blooded look down on us. You can't choose your parents, but you sure can decide who your gonna be.

People like your cousin needs a wake up call. It dose'nt matter who you are what color you are or where your from. We'er all of one color/ the color red blood red. We all bleed the same color which makes all of the same race "THE HUMAN RACE". If your cousin cant see that then I'ed say their blind.

this is a form of prejudice / racism
no one person is better then any other one person based on skin color or race
tell your cousin this and then tell them to get over themselves
tell them they are ruining what people think of them because of the ignorant things coming from their mouth
then tell an ADULT if you are not one

Why are you concerned about it? Pay attention to your own thoughts and feelings and go on with life.
