For my school newspaper, I'm writing a story about our new principal! Any ideas on how to start the story...something catchy?

I know how I would have started the story off when I was in High School, something along the lines of "(name of new principal), a name whose very mention struck terror in the hearts of those who thronged the halls of (his last school), brings his draconian ways to (your school)", but my style of writing and sense of humor is more appropriate to papers who's main headline is along the lines of 'Bat Boy Rescues Navy Officer From WW2 Shipwreck.
Seriously though, how about: "(name of new principal), who was behind the helm of (former school) brings his expertise and style to (your school)".
Is your school strong in the area of sports? Maybe go through back issues of the newspaper sports sections and borrow some of the 'new coach' article styles.
Once you get the hang of writing, you'll start to develop a style that is uniquely your own, and won't have to ask questions like this anymore.
