Maybe because they claim not to support abortion? But I can't seem to understand how one can be Republican and claim to be Christian? Isn't Christianity a Social Program? Republicans are overtly against Social Programs! Wasn't Jesus a Liberal? Republicans are Conservatives, so they're Anti-Liberal. So how can they really be Christian? I would tend to think that they would see Christ, and people that are "Christ-like" as weak...

It probably has something to do with the fact that many of them mention Jesus all the time. Name dropping of the worst sort.
Also the large, powerful and very influencial organizations, often called the "religious right" are the driving force behind the current Republican Party.

There are quite a few fundamentalist who seem to be Republican, but equally there are moderate Christians who tend to be Democrat. The fundamentalists are definitely louder, so that could be the reason.

Cause most Republicans are associated with the Christian Church and are devout to it. They believe in a kind of Republican Christianity that this country was founded by Christians.

Because once every two years the republicans suck up to them. Maybe they will figure out they are being used someday and we can talk about real morality instead of feeding the rich.

I think its primarily because the Christian right has such an influence on parts of the party, you will here a lot of conservatives (in Oklahoma) speak of protecting moral rights and such.

jeez, Kathleen Harris in Florida said that if we don't elect Christians, we are legislating sin....bad luck for all the Jew/Moslem/Hindu etc etc etc politicos out there!
If you believe them--GOD is a Republican. But then again, hardly more outrageous than their other lies over the last few years...
