I like my hair the way it is, but I might consider a slight trim if the hair was getting in the way. It's fairly thick and long right now, and I don't have any problem with it at the moment. I would never shave it though. The hair grows there to keep everything at the optimal temperature. If you shave, not only do you risk cutting yourself, but you will make your balls cling to your body (people who've done it have asked questions about the clinging here before too). I heard it itches too. Good night!

Shaving makes it look really weird--prepubescent. Pubes are a sign you are a man--and can do the man thing. Trim if you want them neat, mine tend to get really long ( 5-6 inches) if I don't, and a uniform bush looks better. Careful when trimming though that you don't get carried away and get the moustache look--trimming too much so there is just a small patch--sorta like the fake nose/glasses/moustache look. I've seen guys a the Y that apparently did this, and really results in snickers when they walk by!

I hear that the rash that follows shaving can be terrible. You are growing older, which means more hair where you don't need it and less hair where you do need it. Yes, even women have the hair issue.
If it becomes so long that it gets in the way of daily functions then give it a trim. But don't cut the hair too short, the day you do is the day you find a relationship and you'll never live it down. (Murphy's law.)

I never haved shaved there, but I have heard that others do trim up. The thought of the hair growing back and the discomfort from all the itching, i just don't particularly see the need if you're not trying to impress anybody.

Nothing looks more primative than someone who fails to use good grooming. You don't have to "cue ball" the area, but for Pete's sake trim back to a decent level. The benefit is neatness. Possible side effects include chaffing. I would think the ladies appreciate a well trimmed hedge.

No straight razors, just use some clippers and trim it up a bit. Trust me, when you get a girlfriend she will appreciate the fact that you are clean and that you take care of yourself. Some guys are afraid of this sort of thing and will make fun of you for doing it, but honestly the pe*is fro and sideburns have been out for quite some time now!

you don't have to question the masculinity of shaving your genital areas. is it gay? who cares? is it straght? who cares? what matters is do you want to try it. if so, just do it.
i'm straight. i asked my wife to shave her "downthere." she replied, "certainly, if you go first." i did and have been clean shaven for 3 years now. i like to feel and know she goes wild over it. i also feel that i'm able to keep this area clean more easily.
we are both nudists. at the resort that we frequent, the majority of adults and adolescents are shaved. hairy bushes are the minority. this doesn't mean that you should do it. you should feel free to explore the option. i'm pretty sure that all the men at the resort, freshly shaved, are not gay. in our culture, we are quick to label just about anything GAY. A man with a piercing is gay. A man who wears speedos is gay. a man who goes out to eat with his buddy is gay. ALL GENERALIZATIONS, having no validity.
Stop worrying about the stereotypes society has created. go with what you want and what makes you content and happy.

my husband prefers his shaved, even though i don't care at all. really, you should do it for you! the first time i shaved my stuff, i was seventeen and a virgin and no where near getting there. i just wanted to see if i'd like it. and i did! i was afraid it would be itchy or hurt, but it felt soft and smooth all day! just use a good new razor. i've been doing it ever since.

A nice trim is wonderfully delightful, especially for ladies goin down south.... However too short is pokey. But it is great to see a guy who takes care of the undercarriage!

From a girl....although a certain amount of hair is expected, it's a nice courtesy to others (and I'm assuming more comfortable for you) if you can keep things neat. Don't go too crazy though!! (It's a little creepy, trust me)
