I live here and actually i travel to a lot of places here in Guatemala cause im studing medicine and i have to make my practices in rural áreas. So its cool cause i know a lot of cool places. Want to know where to go?? just ask me... i know a lot of hotels, transportation, restaurants, cool places to go.

i live in guatemala. i have lived here (in panajachel) for 2 years. i highly recommend visiting! panajachel is next to a beautiful lake called lake atitlan. if u come to guatemala and have never been here before u will need Hep B shots and something else.
if u come to pana i recommend staying in Hotel Del Lago, but that's a really expensive hotel so if u don't want to spend too much go to Hotel Don Rodrigo, right by the lake. has a pool. a smaller hotel is Posada de los Volcanes, on the main street, tourist friendly and associated with the shuttle company which will take u straight from the airport to the hotel. PANAJACHEL IS THE COOLEST make sure u go across the lake to Casa del Mundo, owned by americans. their son goes to my school. Casa del mundo is a must-visit if u come to guatemala. also Antigua is a great city, 2 hours from panajachel and one hour from airport. if u go to antigua make sure u eat breakfast at Doña Luisa Xicotencatl. they have great french toast. everything at doña luisa is safe for tourists. try their cinnamon buns to go!

I've lived there and every visit seems to get better and better. It has very beautiful places and great food! There's no other place like Guatemala.

i spent Lot's time in Antigua some time in pana. over on the lake. i loved it probably made 15 trips i stayed at Refugio hotel less than $5.00 a day good owners friendly Lot's backpackers to talk to. good food good weather coffee is really good grown in the area see smoking volcanoes have fun. i hung at the verge. restaurant up stairs Jane and her Gerald and the 2 dogs ran the place this was in the 90s.

No, but I've been to Costa Rica and Panama! Pretty close and their both very cool places to hang out. I'm sure that Guatamala will be also.
