1. Listen. People follow leaders because they feel a kinship, an understanding with them. You will know what people want and need when you listen to them.

2. Ask for feedback. You will never know how you are doing unless you ask. And you can't make changes for the better if you're not sure where your strengths and weaknesses lie.

3. Lead by example. If you want people to behave a certain way, set the standard.

4. Be honest. Especially when you've made a mistake.

5. Be human. I know this is not big in the Donald Trump School of Leadership. You're not supposed to be friendly or empathetic or show emotions other than displeasure. But for people to respect you, you have to be human.

6. Lead courageously. I worked for a Fortune 500 company as a leader and was often called on to make a quick decision. So I made them, often when others just as qualified could have done so. I made a few bad ones, but taking the initiative when no one else would made me the person that people looked to for answers.

7. Work in the "gray" zone. Nothing is ever black and white. Working with people is very hard, and sometimes rules were meant to be stretched. People will work harder and with greater loyalty when you are willing to work with their needs.

8. Ask for help. You've got this one aced already! "No man is an island."

Honestly some people are justborn leaders andsome are not. It is all based on your personality. But just being in a leadership position can help u to learn. Most important thing to remember is that u have to be a outgoing person and not afraid to tell someone what to do. This doesnt mean u have to be ahard a** but u have to be asertive. And inorder to be agood leader u have to be a good follower. Because u can not lead if u have not been led. Hope this helps.
