Being offended is a choice like anything else.
Many feed off drama.
It makes one feel powerful to say....how dare you say that to me, around me, to them, about them...whatever.
It is a reason to debate, or fight.
Bores me actually :)

Feeling Secure about your own thoughts and sharing life experiences with others should be gratifying, but it is those that are offended and sensitive that believe they have a conclusion to everything.
Life is too complex as it is, I say Let it go.

in this politically correct world, full of radical religious groups(which includes Americas bible thumpers) do you really have to ask that question.
