Its not a bad smell, don't get me wrong. However, I don't think its debatable that they smell like something. If you won't concede fish, they at least smell like the underneath of a ball sack (i know this from smelling my hand after scratching my sack, so please no gay jokes, lets be mature).

id like to edify that i said that it smells like the underneath of balls. (sorry for the bad sentance) It was just a question, no reason to tell me to get a life. I have a life, filled with curiosities. I am merely posing a question that has plagued men for years.

wow, the last person down made a spelling corretction joke. What a bright young woman. I wish more people would respond to spelling mistakes. Oh, wait, every dim wit on yahoo makes a comment about them, like it somehow is an indicator of intellegance. I've got news for you, smart people type fast b/c they think fast, and sometimes make mistakes. No one worth there wieght in beans gives a crap.
By the way, I can't believe anyone took this question seriously.

Maybe you should tell your females to clean their areas. There is no reason for a woman's place to smell like a mans yam bag!!! That is just laziness, or lack of hygiene!! A woman who stinks, has an issue, I mean there could be a slight aroma...but it should not smell like a lap flounder!!! Every person has their own unique odor, but it should not be offensive!!!

Yup ..I looked it up on the Internet and this is what I found....
A woman's vagina is not supposed to stink. A clean and healthy one may smell slightly musty but any truly offensive or fishy odors should signal you curious fellows to be extra careful.
and.....Yes, vagina's smell – but no worse than the male equivalent after a hard day's work with no wash (trust me, the smell, let alone taste of an unwashed penis is truly gag-worthy). Nothing a little water will not cure.
Vagina's that smell offensively bad have had their balance disrupted in some way – perhaps because of douching, the introduction of unfriendly foreign objects, too much stress, not enough liquids ... go see a doctor to correct the imbalance.
There are other ways to deal with a vagina that is overly smelly – same as the way guys can deal with "penile emissions" that are overly smelly. Watch your diet. Are you eating a lot of garlic, fish, meat, onions..? No greens to be seen anywhere? Why are you surprised? A person eating a lot of garlic should not expect his farts to smell like roses.
Umm..OK ..yes I am female but have never been told I smell offensively..

One of the most common causes of vaginal odor is bacterial vaginosis (BV), a type of vaginitis. BV results from an overgrowth of one or several organisms that are normally present in the vagina. As certain organisms multiply, they produce chemicals that cause a fish-like odor characteristic of BV. The odor may be more obvious after sexual intercourse. Repetitive douching disrupts the normal organisms that live in the vagina and can actually increase the risk of vaginal infection.
Other signs and symptoms of BV may also include grayish-white discharge and vaginal itching or irritation but it's not always there, uasually just the "fishy odor". BV isn't serious, although it can cause preterm labor in pregnant women. They treat it with prescription medications, usually antibiotics.
Other causes of vaginal odor include:
Poor hygiene
"Losing" a tampon — when a tampon rises to the wider, top part of the vagina and lodges there, leading to infection
A childbirth injury to the connection between the rectum and vagina, which can lead to fecal odor
Rarely, advanced tumors of the cervix or vagina
All other odors are caused by pheromones and other hormones produced during the menstruation cycle.
