Salsa or something in that vein would be good.
You want music that is festive but not overwhelming.
You want the music to enhance the atmosphere rather then create it. You want the attention to be on the food, not the music.

A mix of Rockabilly(Stray Cats), Alt pop ( think Fountains of Wayne), Alt Country ( Johnny Cash, Classic Rock (Bob Dylan, Foreigner, Queen). I would get an HD Radio with Satellite and an excellent sound system to go with CD's. Skip an internet Jukebox (everybody has them).

I would have a mix, something without the lyrics probably, since people like to sit down and talk, That way they wont get distracted with the lyrics of certain songs. Something contemporary and fresh. U might wanna try some kind of French music.
