Hiya! Just got some really pretty ribbon - don't know why i bought it - it was just pretty and i figured i could do something with it - any ideas what i can do with it?

I bought a pair of 2T jeans off of ebay and was thinking i could embellish them for my neighbor's daughter. (she complains she can't find anything jean's-wise for her 6 year old that have a high waist and straight legs - so she buys boys jeans for her and thinks they aren't femimine looking, funny, i know - lol - anyway, i figured i'd try with something small - i.e., her 2 year old)

I thought i could put some trim with ribbon? Is that about what you use the ribbon for? I am looking to take a class at Michael's, but in the meantime, thought i'd check with the creative folks here! I can knit and crochet but my sewing skills are non-existent. I am lucky i can sew buttons onto pants. Thanks - have a good nite - happy friday tomorrow!

Thanks - wasn't sure if that's what you use decorative ribbon for or not. LOL :)

OK - can i ask a dumb question sunseaandair? How do i weave the ribbon together - that sounds like a really cool idea on the pockets. Just like a basket weave or is there a way to sew the ribbon to make it the size of the pocket - sorry - i am so bad with sewing! :)

Hi, you can weave the ribbon into the same size as the pockets (if the jeans have pockets that is) then sew them on...looks really pretty.

or do the same thing and put them on as patchwork.

trim the hems, or use the ribbon at 2 inch intervals about 8ins from the bottom of the hem downwards.

have fun, hope it works for you.

Sewing ribbon on the hemline of these jeans would certainly make them more feminine, but be sure you are using sewing ribbon, not craft ribbon.

Another idea: Purchase some trim (lace, ruffles, fringe) and tack it by machine or by hand to the bottom hem and on the pockets. If you have a little leftover you can also attach it to the sleeves of a t-shirt for a matching outfit.

I think it's a great idea. Put trim around the pockets, front and back. It's girly and feminine and I applaud you!
