then the prices would stay around 3/gallon, or go higher, why would intentionally keep on lowering it,... maybe it really is all about supply and demand.

I have learned that as a consumer, I know relatively nothing. Remember the 2001 energy crisis in California that got Davis recalled and Schwartzenegger elected? Think it was actually an energy crisis? I did, and I blamed the Californians because that's what made sense to me. Turned out it was corrupt Enron traders closing power plants and using other tactics to drive prices up. So who knows? Years from now we may find out there WAS corruption and it's now getting settled out behind closed doors...or something else I never would have predicted.

Yep, supply and demand is the correct answer. This oil
conspiracy and Bush was just another one of the Liberal
lies to get people to hate Bush since they're already mad
about high gas prices. I remember when (Democrat) Jimmy Carter
was President of the U.S., we had lines at gas stations and
you had to fill up on certain days (like last name A-K on Mon
Wed and Fri; and last name L-Z on Tues, Thurs, and Sat.
That was even worse as huge long lines formed at the gas
stations and you'd sit for an hour waiting to buy gas.

elections are this november. the price of gas goes down before hand, and everyhting is good in life, right? i mean they have been making mula money for a few years now, how much money is enough? the ceo's have more cash than they will ever be able to spend. its not supply and demand, although there is there demand. but the demand hasnt changed. gotta put the kids through college, ya know?

HELL YES it's an OPEC conspiracy to squeeze every dime they can from us.

But oil investors who speculate are predicting lower gas prices by Christmas and by lower I mean $1.50 per gallon like the good old days of a few years ago. Because we are moving into the Gulf of Mexico to drill that huge oil reserve I think it rattled the OPEC into shape because now we aren't as dependent on them them.

Nope. It's so people like you get fooled into thinking 2.50 is cheap. Don't you remember when it was 1.25 a gallon for premium?? It was... yep, just before Bush was elected. So when you think about it, 2.50 really isn't cheap... It's just just subliminal so that when it goes back up over $3, it will seem normal. Pluuus for some reason production costs are lower in the winter.

Well DUH! Midterm elections are coming up, and the republicans want to stay in power and the big oil conglomerates want them to, also.

My dad was a high muckedy muck in a big oil company and what he saw them do as far as manipulating prices sickened him and he left the industry.
