wow amy, after reading the answers you got with this question, i'm shocked at the lack of respect people have. it's because of the fear the sitting president has instilled in many people. it makes people think and see with blinders on. too bad. he is a terrorist. not only is he a terrorist to countries in the middle east, but he is a terrorist in this country. he spreads fear.

That's easy. First, you should use more than network news as your information source. Most of the "terrorists" are not citizens of Iraq or Afghanistan - they are from Syria, Iran, and several other countries - so it's not "their" streets that our soldiers are walking on.
Second, Iraq and Afghanistan are breeding grounds for Muslim extremists. Their religion dictates that they kill everyone who does not convert to Islam. All Muslims are not terrorists, but all terrorists are Muslim.
George Bush has made plenty of mistakes in the war on terror. However, I have no confidence that any other person, Republican or Democrat would have performed any better. If the United Nations would enforce some of it's resolutions, the United States would not have to play world police.

I DOUBLE DARE YOU TO STOP USING THE WORD "Terrorists" --everyone should STOP using this word so frequently. But you're on the right track.
a) It a propaganda term first used by Nazis to mobilize the population to start WWII, b) it was used by Capitalists the same way during the Cold War.c) everyone today has been BRAINWASHED, especially conservatives because they are conditioned to think we are always fighting the GOOD FIGHT -- WWII. The Bush regime is constantly mimicking leaders of the 1940's. Ridiculous!
Get creative, or at least more accurate about the word. Ok, now that's out of the way!
Bush has Weapons of Mass Destruction and the Iraqi insurgents get what they can, often from the soldiers they are fighting, and they have great support in the Middle East because the West has been taking their resources, land and killing their people for centuries. They're not fighting to terrorize, they're fighting so that the US goes away and leaves them alone. Is that Terrorism? Please.
We have to stop thinking that we can win every war just because our bombs are bigger. DIPLOMACY is everything and the word Terrorist is simply propaganda that we bought, hook, line and sinker!
The Bush Cabal that rules our nation behind the scenes will always be in power because Americans don't think for themselves anymore-- we're given the words and we parrot them back like puppets.

This question is just too stupid - and the fact that you are being serious makes it worse. The people being killed in Iraq are terrorists, you flake! Our troops are over there fighting them so we don't have to fight them over here in the streets. Damn! The people of Iraq don't want us out until their country is stable. It's not stable due to the TERRORIST insurgency that is being funded and armed by Syria, Iran, and al qaida (two terrorist sponsoring states and a... terror group?). Wake up! Between the libs of your mindset and the NY Times telling the enemy how we are gathering our intelligence, it's a wonder we haven't been slammed again!! I have to stop now or the rest of my answer will get me chucked off this site. You dare me? You make me sick, that's what you do.

Amy, your maternal instincts are blurring your ability to view this controversy objectively.
Terrorists intentionally kill non-combatants. That includes not so bright useful idiots who betray their own country's ideals in favor of bloodthirsty middle-eastern predators.
The rules of engagement for our forces is to kill enemy combatants, collateral damage notwithstanding.
Islamofascists won't stop until you and your children point their butts in the air five times a day. Or you get the sword.
If you don't think that's so bad, you're either really really stupid, or you like the taste of dirt.
Oh, there's another difference. Terrorists are stupid enough to believe the old lie that if they die for the cause they go to Allah.
George Bush's intelligence is evidenced by the fact that he understands that terrorism needs to be dealt with sooner rather than later so you and I don't have to go bottom's up five times a day.
Plenty of differences between George Bush and terrorists.

Bush is the President of a country, he is accepted by the world as a leader, he has boundaries to his power, if he were to overstep these boundaries he would face specific consequences like being tried for war crimes, like Saddam & Charles Taylor to name two. Our military is made up of VOLUNTEERS who are deployed where they are needed, Bush is not killing our troops. If you race cars for a living and you die in a wreck is it because it's a part of the act of racing or is it Chevy's fault for making the car. The US has rules of engagement, rules our military must follow.
Terrorists do not. They do not represent a country to the world of which makes a decision as a whole to go to war, They have no boundaries, they are a group of people who kill and torture to instill fear in others to achieve a personal goal, that is their only purpose.

Read a little bit about it. The insurgents aren't necessarily citizens of Iraq. Surprisingly(not) a large % of them are Saudis and Palestinians and outlaw Baathists from Sadams old party. Al Quaeda is killing our troops not George Bush and rank and file Iraquis want to live free from the killers and they appreciate our intervention.

Well Bush didn't crash American planes into the Twin Towers, or the Pentagon, or Penn. I think we should feel lucky to be Americans and feel sorry for all the terrorist and terrorist like people we are killing everyday, they are unlucky not to be born in America.
