Most new computers nowadays don't have restore discs; the restore information, if needed, is actually on a partition stored directly on the hard drive. If you really want a disc, though, the best thing to do is contact the manufacturer and they can send you one, although I believe they charge you for it. You could also try accessing the partition and burning a copy yourself, but I'm not sure it'll let you burn that information, something to do with the copyright.

First of all if you can still boot and have a writable CD Create your own usually take 8 CD maybe 1 DVD if you have a DVD Writer.
Your Computer will recover on its own by useing that feature but remember you are going to loss everything save to C: Harddrive
Also if your Harddrive go out your going to need them CD to Recover.
So then you would need to contact Compact 1-800-CompUSA Option 8

There should be a utility on the computer to create a restore disc. Check your Start menu-all programs-Pc Help and Tools. That is where mine is and I have a Compaq.

If it is not XP then you should call Wal-Mart or Compaq and see if you can get one. XP has a built-in restore system.

Hope that helps.

You have to create a recovery DVD or CDs. There is usually a menu item which allows you to do this. Have lots of CDs or one DVD handy. Make a copy just to be on safe side.
