They are making the mistake of controlling the whole world and not "their world" I believe parents have the absolute right to censor what their children listen to, see, and play in the home. As far as stepping outside, a parent can not control that arena. If a parent doesn't want their child to play something, they should not buy the games or give them the $$ to buy it. Block the channels at home, and spend more quality time with the child if they can. The world will keep on moving.

I have always believed that children learn what they live.
If the parents swear or fight constantly that is what they know.
Kids play video games to escape from this world.
Do you have to wonder why that is?
I don't blame the media... parents have to exercise their control over what the child sees and listens to.
It is an easy out for a parent to say, I don't know where little johnny gets his foul mouth from... must be those darn video games... Dammit!!!!

You have to admit though that there are somethings that children - especially young kids - should not see.
But I agree with you - too many parents use the TV as a babysitter for their kids. This is not acceptable. Parents should take responsibility for what their kids see on the boob tube.

I agree. Why is it that EVERYINGTHING has to revolve around children.
I think it is a combination of parents who feel that they are losing the fight for their kid's attention to the media and parents who feel they have to "keep up with the Jones's" by doting on and protecting their children better than anyone else does.
Either way, its pretty damn sick. What we need is one state in this Union that is 18 and over. You have to be 18 to live there, move there, even to VIST there. No kids allowed, period.
Doesn't that sound like Heaven?

Because the children are our future, and most decent people do not raise their kids to speak vulgarity and such as what goes on in the ghetos of this nation. Good parents do not want their children subjected to that smut, and they should not have to worry about it. I am proud that I was raised in a nice quiet, respectable all white community!!!

Why is it people without children think they have the answers?
Everyone wants control, and we live in a democracy.
Kinda works out (mostly).
Chill dude, someone put up with YOUR whiny little butt when you were a kid!

We are trying to bring our children up so that they do not have the attitude that you do.
i only try to control what my children watch, what you allow to warp your brain is of no concern to me.
Children have run amok today.
There is not as much control in the homes today as in the past.
I just want to give my children a chance to survive on this filth bucket of a planet.
I don't want my children to have the perverse kind of mind that machine guns other innocent children.
Other than that, you have the freedom to destroy as much of what is left of society as you want.

their is nothing truer than the following statement"wait till you have kids of your own" and until then respect your parents do what is asked of you and understand that they are looking out for your best interest and they love you no matter what you think they do so brush your teeth and turn off your computer before you get caught and they take it out of your room
