I'm doing laser hair removal on my legs. I went to my second treatment yesterday and it was a really bad experience.

Unlike the previous time where I felt some pain, this time was horrible. I had to make her stop a couple of time because I was not able to endure the burning sensation. She explained to me that because my skin is a bit tanned this time, the laser is having a hard time making the different between the hair and the skin.I went home with a burning and an itch sensation in my legs.

During the evening, I started to notice some red cercles all over my legs from where the laser hit. Today, those same marking are purple to dark brown. Some of them are even a little bubbly (sorry, i know this sounds nasty!).

My questions are :
Do I have some degree of burn on my legs?
Will is eventually go away?
Do I have to use any special cream?

As I am not a specialist in this area, my answers come from experience (I have had leg laser removal)
- I don't know about burn, I doubt it. I had purple and brown marks almost like little bruises, and yes they went away after about a week. I just moistured my legs and exfoliated. no special cream. they also never said I should use anything.

I would recommend calling the center that you had it done at and talk to either the doctor they have on staff, or to one of the technicians. Perhaps you hadn't waited long enough between the 1st and 2nd treatment and your skin was still a little sensitive. Good luck.

A professional laser operator would have warned you on the first visit not to dare get suntanned. She should not have given you a treatment when you were tanned. The laser is designed for hitting dark hairs on a light skin with strong light but if you are tanned it just hits everything and gives the burns you have.

Seek medical attention first . There may be something he can do to relieve the discomfort. If there is a possibility of something going on with you skin he can help you. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
