America needs to take on a leadership role again.

High technology

Develop stems cell technology or elde someone else will
Develop space exploration or someone else will

Have the will to be great and do great things.

You must maintain military advantages or else someone else will.

Continue leading in aerospace, computer and software technologies.

And don't sweat about the Mexicans doing your grunt work. They are your second best friends in the world, and will be the key to maintaining American interests into the future.

They are hard working and Christian, they will assimilate if you let them. The rest of you will have to adapt and begin working as hard as your ancestors from two generations ago did.

Otherwise, you will not deserve to remain the best country in the world.

(BTW Your best ally is north)

Why does America have to be #1? It seems that, as with the British Empire, being #1 hardly earns you all sorts of admirers. I think it would be better if there were no #1, just a level playing field.

Anyway, China has no interest in overtaking anyone, but it does have to clean its house before we can take it seriously.

10 or more years ago, when the media were expounding upon the wealth of Japan, declaring that they would be the big world power, anyone who listened to their geography teachers talk about natural resources, would have to realize that it would indeed be China. China has the land mass the work force the government, industry, NATURAL RESOURCES of every kind, and an up and coming transportation system. With their pseudo-capitalistic methods, they shall undoubtably be a world power to be reckoned with, but not as an enemy to our freedom, but as a wealthy nation with all of the rest of the world as their customers. By the way, National Geographic Magazine just featured an article on this in their latest issue.

Most people agree that free trade benefits both sides. And, in an overall, big picture sense that is probably true. But, China is growing and replacing American workers so quickly, that they don't have time to get training or more education to get a better career. I'm not worried so much about China becoming the number one economy someday, as I am about it's rapid growth causing major social unrest in the U.S. and other industrial countries.

Who cares? Why does being #1 matter? America wouldn't be what it is without brain power from foreigners. It's time it owed thanks to the world.

Pay off Chinese investors so they aren't tempted to invade the US and foreclose on the entire country.

It will probably happen no matter WHAT we do, but it will still take a LONG time before it does.
