How do i connect my windows 98 computer to my school's internet access? High Speed LAN Internet, computer has LAN port.

ok just go to windows and right click after that delete and approve that's it

First you gotta make sure the Network card has the right drivers for it and it's working correctly. Device Manager will tell you. Most home DSL is setup so you can use it without assigning an IP so if you go to control panel then network. Check the properties if the TCP/IP and make sure it's not assigned an IP. Hit OK to get out of it all then just plug the ethernet cord into the NIC and you shoooukd be able to surf. You may have to go into internet options (control panel) and hit the connections tab and go through the setup. Make sure you disable the auto detect proxy crap.

buy a INTRANET cable connect it to your modem and plug it into the back of your comp. then set it in control panel that youre connecting to the internet
