No it does not. Although someone else has also noted it, even though SpongeBob is an idiot, he is not a child. He lives on his own, in his own home, goes to an adult based driving school, and carries on his own life as an independant being free of the constraints of his parent's influence. His friend Patrick Star, an even grosser idiot, does the same. Neither of them are children even though most common house plants sport a higher I.Q. If anything, the Bikini Bottom Board of Labor should investigate Mr. Krabs' restraunt, "The Krusty Krab" for unfair labor practices involving mentally challenged sea creatures and possible OSHA safety violations, but not for violations involving child labor practices.

Spongebob was born on July 14, 1986. It can be seen by his driver license on an episode, which means when Spongebob aired, he would have been 12. Spongebob makes only 7 cents an hour as mentioned in an episode, and he makes $5.95 a week. Do the math. That s child labor!!

I don't think it is, and have yet to see why it would do so. If it does do that to people, they need to stop watching Spongebob Squarepants and get back to reality.

Spongebob is not a child. Neither is his friend Patrick. Just because hes dorky doesn't mean hes a kid. They have showed his parents on a few episodes and they showed him when he was a kid.
