They sure are. But their vibrant pigmentation also serves a vital role in attracting a mate, and warding away predators. Rather than being attracted to the bright colors, predators avoid such prey because the colors are usually indicative of the creature being poisonous. Some of the butterflies really are poisonous, but some just develop the bright colors as a defense mechanism to make predators falsely believe they are poisonous.

aww they are so pretty and cute,i had to hold one when i went to the Tennessee Aquarium and i took a pic of it too,i wish i had it as a pet..lol

there is alot of truth in that yes. they are quite amazing in their ways of traveling and such. their colors are incredible as well.
