Big Oil is to blame.
Add to that they needed to hoarde a bit of cash to pay for the pre-election drop we are now seeing. I wonder why that is ....

The sudden decrease is because of an oil well discovered by Chevron in the gulf of mexico. THis is expected to be the largest domestic oil reserve.
A gallon of water costs more than a gallon of gasoline. Give it a thought.
If you look at the oil industry from a business standpoint, it has been growing at 8% annually. The finance sector is growing at 14%.
You never question your credit card company but you will not agree that market has role in your gas price.

The big oil guys make the money. The guys actually selling the gas don't make the huge profits.
The government of course doesn't mind. They make nearly $.30 a gallon in Federal Taxes.
You really want to give me a useful tax break...get rid of this one.

No, it's not the government (this time, anyway) all of the blame can be laid on Exxon/Mobile and their insatiable greed.
Their quarterly profits following the hurricane in Louisiana were absolutely criminal! (It even prompted a Congressional investigation of profiteering)
The largest single quarterly earnings for any company or corporation in the world - EVER!

iT'S ON THE FRONT PAGE OF OUR NEWSPAPERS. YOU DON'T HAVE TO SEARCH LONG AND HARD FOR THIS ONE. HAVEN'T YOU HEARD ABOUT ALL THE RECORD PROFITS OUR OIL COMPANIES ARE MAKING. THE ONLY REASON PRICES HAVE GONE DOWN IS BECAUSE OF THE UPCOMING ELECTIONS IN NOVEMBER. REPUBLICANS WANT TO BE RE-ELECTED..
