I'm talking about the fact that our planet is billions of years old and even light from stars can take many lifetimes to get to us. We are an integral part of it but I don't think we can ever really be called old, no matter how long we live for in mortal terms.

No, I don't agree. I think just the opposite. I think we humans are like a candle burning up at an incredible rate while the universe moves so slowly, eons go by with negligible visible change.

In universal time, the life of a single human is like a micro-second in the scheme of things.

Yes, old is a relative term. I am 41 years young.

most of us grow up until 18 or 20 yoa.Then we grow out. most of us never mature, we just want others to think we do.

i agree. but we just call it old b/c it is towards the end of our life span. anything towards the end of its life span is considered old, but technically we arent old compared to the universe.
