justified by the shooter(s) being goth?

I personally cannot, there must have been many reasons as to why he/she/they had a motive to do such a ghastly act that does not equal him being goth. Could have been bullying from the past in schools, being a loner (thinking that no one liked him/her/they), mental illness, etc,....

Also what is your take on the goth community? Do you think they are satanists? I know many who happen to be christian actually, but then again, those people are just into the style.

But being a goth is not about satanism, being evil, suicide, etc,.... I know many who are loving, with beautiful personalities.

I hope this brings some light to those who do not know otherwise.

Rich Z - Canada's loose gun laws? As if, compared to the US crime with guns, we are harmless.

Such behavior is an expression of unmanageable frustration.

Have you ever tried to learn a new skill or activity. Something very technically challenging like playing golf or fly fishing, or seen a young child trying to play a new video game, or maybe a grown man trying to work on his car.

With all difficult and technical activities, there is some measure of frustration and that frustration can either defeat a person, or only be a temporary obstacle that they recognize as such. Golf is a perfect example. A good golf swing is the result of much hard work and tiring mental focus. There are many elements to the swing that must be mastered and then put together before you can look like one of these professionals whose swing is smooth and effortless.

The tedious laborious effort and practice that lead up to that kind of impressive display can totally undermine some people emotionally.

Life is no different, except that it is far more difficult to master, and really nobody does master it.

Most young men in America want to date some hot intelligent personal young coed. Very few ever do. THat is because they never applied themselves to learning how to approach women because of fear, insecurity, etc.

Getting a good job can be the same way. Succeeding in life in anything requires a lot of experience that involves a lot of frustration.

Its okay to scream f*ck when your mad, as long as you don't totally freak out, and then you can return to the scene of your failure and make a new try and a new try and a new try until you get it right.

As to this kid being goth or anything like that, it is really irrelevant.

The truth is this. He was experiencing frustrations in his life as do all people.

Most people just accept their failures and dissappointments, very few people have the patience and ambition to overcome, and some people totally freak out and go on a killing spree.

There have been times when I was fly fishing or playing golf when I absolutely freaked out and broke clubs, rods, reels, other personal belongings etc.

That is all my own stuff and that is fine. I will pay the price, but in the end, I revisit my frustration and sit down and examine what I did wrong and go back and work at it till I achieve success.

It is all about taking effective control over your life instead of accepting the idea that the circumstances are just too hard. Or that things always go badly for you.

Something like this is a cheap easy way to exercise control without engaging the kind of patience and discipline to really overcome the causes of your frustrations.

No, I don't think that the shooting that happened yesterday had nothing to do with the man being Goth. My daughter is Goth and she has the most beautiful I have ever listened to. She acts with respect to others and she is good in school. Goth to me is just the way you dress, it has nothing to do with Santa. People think that, because they didn't take the time to read about it.Satanism exist but is something else, they dress similar to Goth, but it has nothing to do with Goth and the clothes they wear.

I think he was just a lonely nutcase who took advantage of the loose Canadian gun control laws. If the people who opposed those laws were thinking about it today do you think it would have gotten through their heads that everyone having a gun is not always a good idea? Don't give me that sad story about maybe he was bullied or no one liked him - his victims are still dead or traumatized.

No, I can not see any conection to goth at all. And for gun control, no law can stop an anger that intense.
