they shouldn't be...
your entire computer should be one speed or the other...
may want to check to see if the ones on the front are connected through some kind of expansion card...the ones on the back are directly mounted to the motherboard

I don't think it makes a difference where the USB port is. It should transfer files at the same rate of speed. Pick a file and use the same file and tiime it with a stop-watch one both and compare. See if there is a difference.

It all depends, because you might have USB version 2.0 in the back and 1.1 in the front. The ones in the front are connected differently than the ones in the back, but that shouldn't really make a difference. Mine work fine front and back, so maybe its different versions.

There are different types of USB. USB 2 is much faster. Some computers have both.

It should be the same, if your motherboard has usb it should be of the same version in all port.

its just you, with USB the speed remains constant enough over such short distances that a human couldnt tell without the help of technology....

It is just you. Unless you have hi-speed in the front, and not hi-speed compatable in the back, wich I doubt unless they are PCI...it's just you.
