my 9 month old daughter will no longer eat any baby food, stage 2 or 3. she also wont eat infant cereal or formula. the only thing she will take is fruit juice, cheerios ,pudding, yogurt, cottage cheese and breast milk. she hates bottles so i have been giving her drinks in sippy cups. but, i just dont know if she's getting enough nutrition.she also likes sweet stuff like ice cream and any of the other soft desserts that her grandma sneaks to her. i just dont want her to get a sweet tooth this early. can anyone give me any suggestions!!

My daughter wouldn't allow me to feed her once she turned 7 months old. I started giving her soft finger foods to feed herself. If you are giving her yogurt I would recommend giving her the BABY yogurt! Great on hating bottles, she won't need on in three months! Wonderful that she is taking the cup! You will not have to worry about weaning her from the cup. Find different soft food that you can EASILY mash and let her feed herself. No more ice cream, pudding, and don't let grandma sneak the sweets to her. Once she is eatting a good range of fruits, veggies, and meats (try toddler foods, they are really soft) then you can let her have sweets. Also no more then 4 ozs of DILUTED juice a day!

My daughter is now 20 months old and is GREAT at feeding herself, she barely gets messy anymore! She has master the spoon and fork!

Also most importantly TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR for NUTRITION concerns!!!!!!!

I had the same problem with my daughter at that age, although nobody snuck in sugary foods into her, because I was pretty anal about all that. But finally I just stopped trying the "baby" food and gave her finger food - and she ATE! Things my daughter loved was pieces of avocado, bread, yogert, cheese, and peas. But she LOVED avocado! But she doesn't need any formula if she's drinking breast milk. I would recommend to cut out the juice completely - milk or water is much more nutricious. Good Luck!

This is normal, baby food is exremely bland. Offer her some finely diced fruits like cantaloupe or melon, cheerios and cereals and possibly some rinsed beans (to remove sodium) kidney beans, chick peas, pinto beans and some chopped cooked veggies. This covers the food groups well for a little one. I just offer a variety throughout the day and my boy picks and chooses. As long as she's gaining weight without gaining too much she's good. A few tastes of sweets won't hurt anything just don't go overboard, the fruits are sweet too. Good luck

My 9 1/2 month old son is very much along the same lines. He'd live off yoghurt if I let him. Try not to fret to much, just try and slip in some healthy things, you might be surprised, one day your baby might except it. I'd steer clear of ice cream though. Sooner or later your baby will eat a wider variety. If you stress at meals your baby will know and will stress with you. You can even try hiding some healthier food under some favorites, if she takes it try adding less of the favorite and more of the goodies.

I suggest you start giving her grown up food. Just don't add extra stuff like salt and sugar to her foods, she does not need these things. Keep the foods basic(pasta with plain sauce, vegies, fruits, cereal without extrs sugar stuff), soft, and cut up small. Jar foods are a convience not a requirment for babies.
I breast fed all 3 of my girls. My oldest was picky to the point she was diagnosed at age 15m with an eating disorder. Her weight issue started at about 10m. She has out grown it, but saw professional nutritionists for pediatric aged children.

My kids wouldn't eat baby food, either. It's nasty stuff!

They started cereal and pureed fruits and vegetables at 4 months (they were reflux babies, so I started a bit early), and had moved on to mushy table foods by the time they were 6 or 7 months old.

Hi
First of all stop her gran from giving her sweet treats!
Try many different things, dont give up.
Baby pasta with tomato sauce is a good idea or rice cooked with chicken stock and root veg.
Ask friends and relatives what they gave there kids.
weaning is very hard a babys tastebuds are very different to ours!
Good luck hope this helps!

my oldest daughter stopped eating baby food when she was about 6 or 7 months old. she prefered table foods too. what i suggest is getting her infant vitamins. it will insure that she gets all the things that she needs and isn't getting from the food. otherwise she's probably just fine

Some foods that are naturally sweet that she might like to start feeding herself: Steamed carrots, Peas, bannanas, apples cut small enough and gradually add in other finger foods.
