I have a yankee candle on my windowsill that i got for my birthday, but everytime i light it, the wick just starts moving downward, creating a "hole" in the middle of the wax where the melted part is growing. How do i get all of the wax across the whole candle to burn down , so that I don't get a "hole" in the middle of my candle.

A candle burns down the center when the wick isn't the appropriate size in comparison to the diameter of the candle. They will also burn unevenly if you aren't following the directions to a tee.... it is very important to let it burn the full-length of time before snuffing it out! ((I believe it's an hour per inch in diam.))

Burning down the center is great for free-standing candles ((that you don't want dripping)) or the transparent type ((where they glow from the inside and highlight the outer candle, usually adorned with decoration)) Bcuz you have purchased a jar candle, I'd say this is the candle maker's fault, not yours.

All you can do is burn it for all it's worth and then melt the rest! It will still throw the scent without the wick being lit. Use a coffee mug or candle warmer, your coffee pot burner, or even sit it on a heated oven. ((while you're already baking, of course!))

I replaced the wick (as it had burnt down to about a quarter of an inch) with the wick of an ordinary candle ( cut in half and both halves twined together) then melted the candle in the microwave and replaced the wick ( holding it upright until the wax had cooled by looping a length of cotton hels at both sides with candle wax)

You can also get a little thing like a hot plate, that actually melts the wax and releases the scent. When you turn it off, the wax hardens again. This way you don't need to have an open flame around. I have several, and love them. I got mine at Walmart, have also seen them at Michaels and Target.

first of buying a yankee candle was your first mistake they were taken over by a chinese company and now product is inferior. please measure how wide your jar is. please do not burn more than one hour for every inch wide the jar is. this sets the memory for the candle and creates the melt pool for the candle to remember. The directions should be on the bottom of the jar.
however, some dont give this knowledge....
