I bought a 1.0 GB memory chip for this phone and it doesn't work it shows the card but no songs what do i do?

i have the samsung SCH a930 and i bought a 1.0 GB card from my local verizon wireless store and it plays on my motorola phone but it does not work on the samsung. The phone reads the card but does not read the songs.

The card needs to be formated in the Samsung then copy the songs

put songs on the chip duh
