heck amy, they ARE a couple of pole smokers. there's all kinds of gay crtoon characters. how about rocky and bullwinkle or pixie and dixie. how about quick draw mcgraw and babalooie. i think it's possible barney ruble and fred flinstone had sexual relations. the list goes on and on

Maybe. Now that I think of it, I never recall female friends in any cartoon back in the day. All of the females (i.e. Smurfett and Ms Piggie) were in love with a male cartoon character. They never had girl friends. Yeah Bert and Ernie were probably gay as well as the 2 guys that sat together in the theater laughing uncontrollably. I don't know their names but what 2 dudes goes to any theater together. A million smurfs and only 1 or 2 chicks? Gargamel was probably a pedophile. Why was he always chasing the little smurfs and bringing them back to his house? Disgusting....I'm out......

Have you ever heard of Anvenue Q? The voices of Bert and Ernie are the male roommates, and one of them is gay, but is in denial. But the songs are pretty funny, like 'It Sucks to be me.', 'If You Were Gay'(Ernie and Bert), and 'The Internet Is For Porn.' They are all really funny. You can find them on you tube.

Bert and Ernie were NOT and are NOT gay. If they were meant to be gay...they'd have ONE bed in the room...not TWO.

television characters that were pretty damned gay...
Kirk and Spock.
Starsky and Hutch.
Tubbs and...what's-his-name with the pink t-shirt on "Miami Vice"...Crockett?
A bunch of the Bradys.
