my girlfriend decided to go to school in hawaii, but she doesn't want us to break up, nor do i. i'm trying to find some sort of way to make her so homesick that she'll come home and choose another school here in ohio, where we live. i've been sending her little things in the mail to make her think about us and all the things we've been through in our relationship thus far. what could i say or do that would just put her over the edge and make her want to come home. and yes, i realize that this probably makes me a bad boyfriend because i should be supporting her no matter what, but i cant because i miss her too much to encourage her to stay...

You know what they say - If you love them, let them go. The chances that you two will actually survive through the college years is small. You should start trying to get over the distance because trying too hard to bring her back, especially if she likes where she is, will only make her resent you. If you're a good boyfriend that supports her decisions and helps her with them, that should be enough to make her come home if that's what she wants.

I have a hard time believing she will get that homesick unless she gets Island fever and needs to get off the rock for a while. Your best bet is to remind her of all the cool stuff in Ohio that she can’t get in Hawaii. For example… We don’t have many concerts. Does she love the snow?

I understand what you're saying, but the more you try, the more determined she will be to stay for her education. I'm sure you have considered moving to Hawaii to be near her. If not, you should. Boy would that impress her. You don't say what's up in your life, so that may not be an option. But if it were, that would be the way to go.

A better thing to do is to go visit her!
I know it might sound like a lot of money but when u go over there she's gonna miss u when u leave!
