Be sure to fully prepare your audition material, and then trust yourself. If you have rehearsed your pieces, then you will go in with confidence. Breathe and don't rush- it's your moment on the stage. Break a leg.

There are two things I tell my students when they audition:

1) Take risks- create characters that are practical, but stand out. If you have 100 people audition, the director is human and gets exhausted seeing the same people do the same things. If you take a chance and be bold, the director WILL remember YOU, I promise. Do not hesitate, be aggressive in the audition. Who cares if it didn't come out the way you envisioned. If you took a risk and made yourself noticed by the director, you will have a great shot.

2) Speak from your diaphragm, not from your throat- Biggest mistake I see from many people. When you talk from your throat, you lose tone, volume, and the ability to speak. speak from your gut. To practice this, stick out your stomach as far as you can and tighten you muscles in your stomach. When you speak from the diaphragm, you add a rich tone to your speaking voice.

Another thing...you should always warm up your mouth and tongue before auditioning. Pronouncing the letters k,p,t work the different parts of the mouth and the most common ways a tongue will "move" during dialogue. Have you seen Ron Burgandy? AT the beginning of the movie he says " Unique New York" and "The Human Torch was Denied a bank loan" Those are voice warm-up exercises......Well...thats all I have for now!!!

Keep doing what you did to get you to this stage of the process. Consider this:

At the INITIAL audition, you never know quite what they're looking for. You do the best you can do, and you let the chips fall where they may.

But, if you get a CALLBACK, you KNOW you're "in the ballpark," in terms of the look/sound of the character. This is where your good competitive spirit should really emerge. When I get called back, I automatically assume that the part is MINE. If they liked me enough to bring me back, I'm absolutely convinced that NOBODY is going to out-read me.

Whatever you do, DON'T get timid. They like your work, and they're inviting you to show them MORE. Go get 'em!

Go prepared.
Go Confidently.
Don't let the others around you throw you.
Enjoy any other auditions you may get to watch.

Lastly; don't be discouraged by failure; It doesn't necessarily mean your not great. It just as well may mean that the director wanted a taller (or shorter, thinner, fatter, etc.) person in that part.

Getting a call back is a great compliment in the first place.

WOW! Make sure you eat breakfast, get a good night's sleep the night before, and do your best to remain focused and centered. You made it this far, so visualize yourself getting the part, and this process is just a "rehearsal." And pray!

Go with the idea in your head that it will be great if you get the role, but that you will be no less a fine person for not getting it.

I've never done what you are doing --but ask someone who is successful in this as a career and whose body of work you respect and ask their advice. and do what they say.

I just wanted to tell you how awesome I think it is that you went for it!!!
