If someone has shown themselves to be a reliable, highly accurate source of information in the past, it is not worth my time to verify everything they say.

This is a two-part question.

1. "Why". “Why?” is a very good question. It has been discussed for thousands of years. Socrates asked Plato. Plato asked Homer. Homer asked Jethro. None of them could answer the question “WHY?”.

2. ”Do you believe what other people tell you?” Not without check the logic of their reasoning.

Depends on the person. Half the people, I think are lying and the other half I believe because they've proven to me that I can trust them.

If it makes sense and is a testable hypothesis then there is a chance that person is telling the truth.

I only beleive what teachers, journalists, online updates, and stuff like that say. I don't beleive what people say like my friends and stuff, they've got no proof.

Of course some journalists do lie... So I only beleive people when it sounds very realistic.

Because I can be foolish enough to believe someone until I have a reason not to trust them..... yes, I never learn.

I don't usually do but I do listen for further study and learning. Maybe it is the reason for my slow learning, I have to see if it will work for me and if I could use it for myself.
