This is what I did. All the walls in white. I then got kid paint colors. Bright Red, Yellow, Green and Blue. I painted trucks trees sports etc on the white walls. I then got white dressers. I painted the Drawers in the same Bright colors. They all so sell a cheap ceiling fan in the same Bright colors. I was surprised it looked great and everyone compliments me on the room.

My cousin is due in October and she done her nursery with a jungle print border with elephants, tigers, giraffes etc. on it, she painted the walls a tan color, looks pretty sharp and it will not have to be redone after the child is older. She also bought a toy chest at a yard sale and repainted it a deep green and put some of the wallpaper border on it and put poly over the paint and wallpaper. It looks cute, but not real baby baby type than will have to be redone in several years, plus with the colors in the border she has several options if she wants to save the border and repaint the walls a different color later on.

No real offense and it won't matter to HIm what you do, but stay simple, make it easy, and affordable. The Q is like asking about what colors to piant,,, No answer will strictly be right, or wrong, but will be personal opinions and preferences.

Keep in mind that it won't be a "nursery" for very long, and in HIS evolution, so too will the room need to evolve.

I'm going to be respectful and assume this is about HIM, not you, and/or who else might see the room. make it colorful or bland and relaxing, wild or mild, static or animated it will be HIS room, and should be inviting, calming, and a place where HE will feel most comfortable. It need not be crowded/cluttered, trendy, or showy,,,it's a babies room, and as I said,,,HE won't much know or be critiquing, what you do.

I did my son's nursery in primary colors.. one red wall, one blue wall, one green wall and one wall was done all three colors painted in a diagnol with yellow for the door and baseboards and window trims. It is easy to find things for kids that are primary colors and it is supposed to stimulate their imagination.
