Maria Sharapova
Sharapova's endorsments have earned her considerably more than she has won in tournament play. In June 2005, Forbes magazine listed her as the highest-paid female athlete in the world, with annual earnings of $18 million. [CBS reported in August 2006 that the figure is over $20 Million.] In total she earns over $ 13.4 million per year, over 90 percent of which comes from endorsements.

At this point, I think it's M.Sharapova because of her prize money and all that dumb crappy Nike endorsements etc etc.
She probably earns more from outside tennis than the sports itself.
She's overrated.
But in terms of highest paid through the sports, probably A.mauresmo. She's won like 2 outta 4 grandslams this yr and some other championship..u get e idea.
