I also can't get into BIOS to configure the boot-up stage, because the laptop show this message : \system32\ntoskrnl.exe.
Please re-install a copy of the above file.

Now how does this crazy-assed laptop expect me this, when it can't even read the XP disc, or let me into BIOS ? Should I just take it out back and shoot it ?

I forgot include that the laptop's OS is corrupted, and won't even show windows XP's start up screen when the power is turned on. That is why I need to re-install XP, if possible

The ntoskrnl.exe message comes from the OS so you waited too long during bootup to get into the BIOS. Try hitting the setup key earlier in the boot sequence.

Clean Install Windows XP

Why clean install?

While a clean install is not always necessary, slightly better stability and performance can be expected when XP is installed to a clean hard drive or partition.

The XP upgrade is a vast improvement over previous Windows upgrades, and is usually the best choice when transitioning from a previous Windows version to XP. I recommend the clean install approach as a last resort, not the first option.

The easiest solution is to just get a new laptop.
