I'm serious! It's really hard to explain, but for years I've been seeing guys (and only guys) constantly do this. It's kind of like tapping your foot, but not exactly the same. It's always in a really fast motion. It appears the person has to go to the bathroom-is that why they do it? Is there some other reason? Please, guys, enlighten me. Why do you do that? You look nervous!

Hehe, I'm glad someone knows what I'm talking about!

A lot of the time, when I'm sitting, I bounce my leg up and down on the ball of my foot or my heel. Sometimes I push down on my leg while I'm bouncing it to make it go faster (faster than waiting for gravity to pull the leg back into position). The intensity varies, just whatever I feel like doing at the time. It's rarely because I want to go to the bathroom though (if I need to go, I go). And I rarely (probably never) tap out of nervousness. I know that because I'm very seldom nervous. Sometimes I get curious about how much tapping I can do without getting tired. I tried that today in one of my classes, and I couldn't exhaust my legs from tapping. My knees felt a little funny when I got up, but my legs were not tired. But then I also ride a bike a few miles each day too, so those muscles are probably very conditioned.

What do you think of the tapping? Now you've got me curious. You must have some opinion, because you're asking this question. I won't be offended if you don't like it, I promise!

If you think that guys bouncing their legs up and down is weird, you should check out my latest question. It's not new or open, but it's a similar one: Why do women's feet twitch when their legs are crossed? It's not rapid or very much, just a tiny bit like less than an inch. I mean, just about every woman I've observed has demonstrated that habit. It's cute, I think. Unfortunately, half of the women that answered got all defensive for no reason. I had to write quite a bit to straighten that out. You can find the link to the question in my profile ("Has anyone else noticed . . . ."). Good night!

It isn t necessary a condition, most people do it, I do it when sitting or when my legs are crossed my foot does it. Its only my right leg. People could just have a Fiddle foot that can t sit still. People should always associate it with stress or anything. Some people just can t sit still or anything. And its not only guys, its also girls

OMG, I was actually doing that as I read the question. You must be onto something. It probably has something to do with nerves. I've drank about a gallon of pop today already.

I just don't feel good keeping a stable posture all the time, I get tired and I get bored. Do you know, it is more tiring to keep standing straight for 20 minutes, than to walk around for 30 minutes.

It's called Restless Leg Syndrome. Both male and females are affected by it.

Actually, it is a masturbation compensation technique (seriously!)

Basically it's unconcious and most guys don't realise it per se, but it is a certain form of "masturbation" when they aren't capable of actually going somewhere private and relieving themselves!

So basically, it is COMPENSATION... It is doing something because subconciously they'd be doing something else but their environment at the time does not permit them to do so...

At least that's what my mother-in-law and my wife told me ages, and ages ago... And it seems true enough... As alot of guys are sexually frustrated and repressed, and wiggling their legs is the only form of public compensation they can do without getting arrested!

Cheers

I have absolutely no clue. Although, I have been wondering for quite a while!

But, sometimes I even do it, because sometimes when I'm around this guy i'm sort of interested in, my legs get shakey because i'm nervous, so i always do that so no one will notice. =)
