You can ask the same of liberals. Most people think they are right most of the time. Conservatives are right a lot more often than liberals are. Liberalism is not forward moving, if anything it is backward moving. Oppressing people and making people think that the government is their only way of surviving is not forward moving.

Conservatives think that liberals generally move backwards, not forward. Conservatives embrace the founding father's concepts that individuals should solve their own problems with minimal government, and should benefit from their own efforts. Liberals think they have to solve other people's problems ("it takes a villiage . . ") , and redistribute wealth to those who don't earn it or need it. Liberals feel that Political Correctness trumps truth. Liberals feel that the expression of any moral position is immoral. Conservatives recognize the contribution of morals to American society, and understand the need to have them in a future America. Example after example show that liberals talk the talk, but don't walk the walk (especially rich ones).

I see this equally from both sides...not just conservatives / republicans. But I don't understand why that is so hard to understand. Why would you choose to support one particular party if you didn't think they were the "right" one? The only people I see who are open minded tend to be people who consider themselves independent or moderate. They tend to try to see both sides and often cross party lines in their opinions about things.

Liberalism doesn't want to move forward. Do liberals want to fix social security? Do they want to privatize education? If conservatism is defined as wanting to preserve, then it is liberals who are the true conservatives, wanting to preserve the failures of FDR and Johnson. Don't judge ideas on whether they are considered "progressive" or not; judge ideas on whether they are right or wrong.

It's not their fault really, they've just been repeating the same bull**** for so long that it becomes programed in their mind. Don't be mad at them, its just their nature to be delusional. Its hard to stop being delusional when they get their information from other delusional conservatives. Can't you imagine their frustration?
