Where is the camshaft sensor in a 96 Monte Carlo 3.1L?

both of the other answers are wrong. it is behind the power steering pump.
the first answer is refering to the oil pump drive gear
the second answer is just wrong. the car does not have a distributor

bakk of the engine above the trans its in with the oil pump drive gear held in with 1 bolt usally buy the new one and match it up

it is located at the back of the engine inside of the distributor cap.
