The reason y is for the quality of gas i used to work for a car dealership and when we where deciding where to getgas for our cars on the lot we had someone come out and test the gas at the gas stations. Now all gas has some water in it but most ofthe mom and pop stores had 4 times or more water in the gas then the major gas stations.

They aren't selling gas, they are selling CON VEEN iences to you. If you stop in to get some bread and milk or a cheeseburger, then you think "hey, how conveeeeenient that I can get gas here, too." and you pay the 10 cents. Mom and Pop have to sell gas the old fashioned way: by price.

i don't know if this was really an answer but heres a shot. It's competivnes
I live in Oklahoma. One gas station today said $2.10-one directly across the street(but a litlle less known) said $2.04. you know the weird thing? ppl were going to the Citgo-$2.10. Gas is gas, I went cheaper. They really aren't different.
But hers my opinion-quit gripin about the prices when you choose to pay 6 cents more. you say gas is so high(wich, it's going down) yet you choose the name brand , the more expensive ones.
