I want to seal the brick on the front of my house, then cover it with some other material like sliding, stucco or other product which will change the look.

nail 1x4 treated boards to the brick and cover with vinyl siding.....u can also apply metal wire mesh and then apply stucco on to it.......

I got bored with the brick exterior of my house, so I stapled literally chicken wire on the front and stuccoed the front, I bought the stucco with the dry contents, mixed it myself, and trowled to on. I put on a heavy coat and a thinner finish coat to fill any uneven parts. The finish was just a hard wet sponge. I then painted over the grey stucco with a dark burnt orange mixture of two colors that I had. It changed the whole look of my house, and my wife really likes it!I guess I'd better do the back and sides, or not!

i would use stucco
