Depends on YOUR personality and schedule. A dog needs to be cared for much more than a cat. A dog needs to be taken for walks and exercised and taken out to go to the bathroom. A dog needs a routine and really shouldn't be home all day without you. A cat on the other hand, is more self sufficient in almost every area. Yes, they need love and attention too, but you don't need to worry about the cat in the house all day...or give it constant exercise. It generally will exercise itself, sometimes needing a nudge.
But if you are a very outgoing person, a dog would be a great candidate to go on hikes and camping and to the beach with you. Generally, you wouldn't do those things with a cat.

It depends on what kind of person you are. Are you active and could use a dog that will run with you? Or do you have an apartment that can only have dogs or cats. Dogs are more into you where as cats can be, only when they feel like it, creatures. I personally prefer dogs because they can be your whole world. You can take a dog to the beach or traveling to different places. You can teach your dog to do tricks, agility, to help others, like the blind, or to sniff for drugs etc. Cats are content for an occasional pet now and then. So basically it is up to what kind of person you are.

Depends on where you live. For dogs you'll want a yard of some size depending on the breed and size of dog so they can run around a bit, not to mention go to the bathroom. If you're in an apartment or something, then go with a cat, since they can stay indoors at all times. Otherwise, just get whichever one you identify with better. Cats are mainly independent and dogs need more attention...so if time is a problem for you, take that into consideration as well.

if u get a cat dont get a symese cat cause they whine A LOT. I personnally like dogs, but i think ur choice should revolve around where u live and ur daily scedule. Dogs dont like to be alone. an hour or two is okay, but they will express the loneliness by getting into things that they know they should not. Cats need a lot of room. if any neihbors have dogs then the cat could get killed. I think dogs have more personality then cats, but that's just me. GET A DOG!!!

Depends on what kind of person you are. I am a dog person myself but many love cats. You need to keep in mind that you must walk your dog while you can leave your cat inside. Both are a big responsiblity.

Well if you are going to have time to exerice or go on a walk, PlAy with the pup, if you want a energy ball then get a dog.

If you are lazy , love someone to cuddle to, goes to the bathroom in a litterbox then get a cat to be with.

It is your choice.
